Website creation+templates

So, today's task was to create a website and choose the suitable template based on some tips that we have been provided with. 

We will have to create a website because we are going to present our major projects in the galleria. The website that we are using is called Wix. It is a free website building platform and it will help us create our own professional sites.

First things first, choosing the kind of website we want to create. We click on Portfolio and CV because soon we will be presenting our work and this option is the most suitable one. 

Choosing the editor option because we need to create and edit it by ourselves. 

The variety of different templates is very wide, over 500. However, our goal is to find the one that will present our work in a perfect way. 

Here are some screenshots of templates which I observed and think would be great in use. 

Here is one my choices, but I am not so sure about this one, I like that it is simple but I think that it is not so interactive. If I choose this template I would make it look different, for example I will move the menu bar and place it in the middle. I also find the picture space too small, if I put a bright picture I will not be able to use the background as shown on the template, I intend to make the website more creative.  

 In my view it drags your attention from the first sight as the main image is seen clearly. However, it may also be a distraction, it will depend on the picture placed. If it is too bright and colorful one is unlikely to go and watch on the menu bar. When clicking on the option from bar the background does not change, so it has to be something that will not distract the attention from artworks presented in the galleria.

My personal favorite is this given template. I like that it has a triptych, which may be used very wisely and presented in a very attractive way.  

I lean more towards this template because it is simple to a certain extent, very easy to use and navigation is simple. The pictures do not pop the eye as the previous previewed template, however, anyway it depends on the type of pictures I will use.    

Reflection:

You do not have to be a professional programmer in order to maintain a website, that is what I find most exciting about this process. This website editor is very easy in use we just have to drag the elements and be creative. It is a very good chance for us to express ourselves as an artists and expand our knowledge and experience in the digital art area.
