Artist Research for major project

Anselm Kiefer an artist which Zoe recommended me to look at. He is painter and sculptor. His works are very inspirational and gave me lots of new ideas. He uses mixed media and uses such materials as straw, ash, clay, lead. Works have a deep meaning characterizing the dark past times and I think that everyone has different own thoughts while looking at them. In my works I also want to present similar idea and especially I want for viewers to find something personal in them. Anselm uses very unique techniques and that is what makes him stand out as an artist because sometimes it is hard to find things which may be used in art even though they are things which are used in everyday life, I think that only a true artist and a creative one may see it.

Nobuyoshi Araki is a next artist that I took a look at. He is a very expressive contemporary artist and photographer. He presents true works of art, however they are very controversial.

“Rather than shooting something that looks like a professional photograph, I want my work to feel intimate, like someone in the subject’s inner circle shot them,” he says. 


I really like the way he uses paint on photographs this makes them look very artistic, special and outstanding.
