Improvements on the website
Today I focused on improving my website because after receiving the feedbacks on the presentation we did in class in small groups I found some missing points which should be fixed.
The final adjustments have been made. Those include checking if everything is aligned with the help of rulers. In between the images in the portfolio section I left the same space so it looks even and professional. Also, first I just posted images and wanted to make a title and a description in a box beside the image but then I thought of making it interactive, so I changed all the pictures to hover box which change the appearance on mouseover. So, once a viewer mouse on a picture, the background darkens, that is where I reduced the opacity of the image down to 35%, and the title with a description pops up. I wanted to make the title in green colour first, but then I changed my mind and made it in white because it appears to be more brighter. In addition, I tried to keep the same fonts on every page of the website. I used 'Courier New'
First thing that needed to be improved was the name because previous one did not reflect my progression route, that is why I added 'Fine Art' the page instantly started looking more professional.
I also edited the menu bar and the social accounts, leaving only needed ones.
In menu bar I left only Home page, Major project page and About me. I also had unnecessary social links, so I removed them.
For the major project page I decided to leave the background in very natural light beige color. First, I wanted to leave it in white color but the current one that I chose, I think is more warming and welcoming compared to blank white background. I thought that if I use an image for the background it would distract the viewer from the project itself because I have bold and dark images which contrast good on the light background. I also removed capital letters from 'major project' to make every label of the bar the same and added one more page where my statement for this project would be posted. In addition, I came up with the title to my project. I presented it to my flatmate and looking at the draft pieces she gave me a feedback and said that I have an intertextuality and that is how I decided to use this word because in media language which my friend studies it means not only the lingual connection but any connection, in my case it is nature and manmade buildings.
